About Wolf359
Did lots of stuff, and had many careers. Been around the block, won some, and lost some. Better to have lost than to have not tried at all. Did lots of fund raising for Spina Bifida, Make A Wish, and the Kidney Foundation through our local car club. Loved to fly (flew a WWI B-17 once, what a hoot!) until heart problems made me quit. Still do digital imaging, and photography. Got serious in Astronomy in 1986 at the arrival of Halley. Bought a Meade 2045 from Texas Nautical Repair while living in Houston. Soon after that, (after getting "aperture fever") I upgraded to a Meade 2080 LX2. I modified it with a Dec motor, Davionx Drive Corrector, JMI Motofocus, Lumicon Giant Easyguider, etc. Did some fantastic shots of M42/43, M57, M27, M13 etc. I used a Nikon F2 with the Lumicon focal reducer, and either hypered 2415 Tech Pan, or Konica 1600 print film. I sold the scope in 2000, and hated to see it go, but was really busy at the time. I now have plenty of time, and recently purchased a LX200 10" Classic to get back into the hobby. It is a bit heavy, but I can still set it up with a little effort. I control it with my Mac G4 Powerbook and Voyager 4 software. I plan to do some Digital Astrophotography this time around.
