Arp 222 (NGC 7727, VV 67 and others) is an odd spiral in the ‘Galaxies – Adjacent Loops’ class. It is located approximately 69 million light-years away (https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/0004-6256/152/2/50/pdf) in Aquarius. It could be interacting with NGC 7724 to the right (west) which is also located at about the same distance.

RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
370 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 10 minutes
Imaged over six nights in September and October, 2019 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
