Sharpless 261

Sh2-261 (LBN 863, Simeis 34, Lower’s Nebula and others) is an emission nebula located approximately 6,164 (http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-ref?bibcode=2015AJ....150..147F) light-years away in Orion.

Ha – 24x1800s – 720 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

840 minutes total exposure – 14 hours

Imaged from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri (a red zone) on November 18th and 23rd and December 3rd and 6th, 2019 with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90DT at f/6.7 603mm.

I also captured luminance but it was very faint:

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours
