Witch Head Nebula (IC 2118).
Capture made by the longtime friend FO Menezes de São Paulo. I am happy to follow the evolution of my astronomical friends.
Located about 900 light years from us, it is about 70 light years from end to end. It is a nebula of reflection (nebula that reflects the light of a neighboring star). The next star, responsible for its brightness and blue color, is Rigel, the brightest star in the Orion constellation whose brightness is 85,000 times greater than the Sun.
