NGC 3254 (UGC 5685 and others) is a seyfert 2 galaxy located approximately 103 million light-years away in Leo Minor.
Supernova SN 2019np was discovered by Koichi Itagaki on January 9th. This type Ia supernova managed to reach around magnitude 13 but is fading. This is the bright blue star above and to the left of the core. I’ve been tracking this one for the AL Nova Observing Program since January 18th.
