Cloud detail on Venus using variable polarizing filter

To cut glare, I decided to use a variable polarizing filter with a 2x barlow to observe and image the gibbous phase of Venus. Little did I know that I would actually see cloud detail. The polarizing filter allowed to me to observe and image what I thought would cost hundreds of dollars to achieve. It is not absolutely necessary to buy expensive UV or Ca-K line filters for Venus.
