Located in Cepheus, the Flying Bat nebula, known as Sh2-129 is a fairly dim emission nebula. Within the nebula lies then Squid nebula, known as OU4. The squid is extremely faint and undoubtedly this was an extremely challenging image to process. This image is a collaborative project between myself and Dean Schwartzenburg. We both collected data at the Okie Tex star party and at home. The image is comprised of 5hrs of RGB, 11.6hrs of Ha and 30hrs of OIII, all collected using 1x1 binning.
Processing was done with PixInsight.
Scopes: Stellarvue SV 70 and Takahashi FS 60. Camera: QSI 583 and QSI 640
