Globular Cluster NGC 5053 in Coma Berenices

This cluster has the compactness of a globular but clearly isn't globular in shape. In this drawing, it looks more like the letter "Y" on its side.

NGC 5053 is only one degree from the much brighter M 53 globular.

Drawn with a 2B pencil on Canson drawing paper, then processed with GIMP 2.8 software.
