Galaxy group Arp 116

Arp 116 consists of M60 (NGC 4649, UGC 7898, VV 206a and others), a large elliptical and NGC 4647 (UGC 7896, VV 206b and others), a face-on spiral. While these appear to be close, M60 is approximately 56 million light-years away and NGC 4647 is approximately 53 million. The galaxies at the bottom right are NGC 4637 and 4638 (left to right).

Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours

Imaged May 3rd, 4th and 8th, 2016 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
