Barred spiral NGC 1365

NGC 1365 (PGC 13179) is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 56 million light-years away in Fornax. While fairly bright at 10.3 magnitude, being at -36 degrees declination, it is very low from the Northern Hemisphere. This field also contains numerous other galaxies and 73 quasars according to Simbad. See the annotated image for more information.

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours

Imaged January 26th, 28th and 29th, 2017 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90DT at f/6.7 603mm.
