The Eagle Nebula (M16)

The Eagle Nebula - also known as M 16, is an emission nebula located in the constellation Serpens and is about 7,000 light years distant. It is a hotbed stellar birth and is also the location of the "Pillars of Creation" - made famous by the iconic Hubble photo from a few years ago.
