The larger galaxy here, NGC 4725, is an asymmetric, "one-armed" spiral galaxy in Coma Berenices. The smaller galaxy in the right of the frame is NGC 4712, a physically unrelated background galaxy. The image was taken with a 12.5" PlaneWave telescope and a Quantum Scientific QSI640ws camera at f/5.2. Total integration time was 8.5 hours using LRGB filters from Southern California.
