I have had many questions relative to what does the original image look like as compared to the processed image. This picture demonstrates the dramatic difference. In the "Before" image you can see prominence's but faintly compared to the "After" image. In the "Before" image, the surface details are "soft" and the small dirt particles on the camera sensor. To achieve the processed image, 13 individual images were "stacked" and wavelet adjustments were made along with other parameters using RegiStax6, into Photoshop CS6 for minor adjustments, then into Lightroom 4.4 for major tweeking to pull out many details and to give a more 3D look,finally back to Photoshop CS6 to create the "Comparison" photo. The telescope used was the Lunt 60mm Hydrogen Alpha in the Double Stack configuration. The camera was The Imaging Source DMK51, and the close up was courtesy of a 2X Orion "Shorty Barlow". I also used the capture software to zoom in on that region of interest (ROI).
