An impressive arc shaped rim of HII structure is located in the tail of the Scorpius constellation. The nebula is also known as Gum 56 after Australian astronomer Collin Gum who catalogued emission nebula using wide field photography. Nearby hot massive stars radiate the nebula with invisible ultraviolet light.
The center portion of the nebula is very bright and very difficult to process because the red saturation comes very easy. In this case I tried to put my best efforts to bring some red flavours to the main structure.
Image taken with Carbon Fiber RC 8" f8 AT telescope and QSI 583 WS riding in a NEQ6 from my home backyard in Buenos Aires suburbs, Argentina. Total exposure time 3 hs and 40 minutes.
