This shot encompasses a portion of the Rosette Nebula, highlighting the cluster of hot young stars in the center. The image clearly shows the large cavity burned away by hot stellar wind and radiation emitted by the new stars. Multiple shock waves moving out from the central area of the nebula are also visible. The image was taken at the Lakeview Garden Observatiory, Pensacola, Florida, with an APM 105/650 refractor looking through Hydrogen alpha, Oxygen III, and Sulfur II filters.
