Brilliant Geminid meteor taken from Trentino, Dolomites, northern Italy at 2009 december 15th, h. 1.27 am UT. Unfortunately the nighti before, when the Geminid meteors peak was expected, the snow was falling. Anyway the night of fifteen dec. i tried again programming a Startrails multiframe exposures. I used my Canon 40D on a Manfrotto tripod 180, Canon ef 17/85 mm. zoom lens, Canon programmable remote control TC80n3 and the Canon ACK-E2 EC adapter and i started exposures at 00.00 am UT. I set the camera on 60 seconds time exposure per frame, iso 800 and the lens on focal 17mms, F/4, autofocus and image stabilizer off. I could see three brilliant meteors during the 3 hours total time exposure and, what a luck!, one of those was captured !.
