Born Durham NC 1954. Grew up in the south (North Carolina, Alabama, Virginia) and joined the USAF in 1972. Ended up in Rapid City SD working on Minute Man II ICBM's. Got out of the service in 1983 and drove over the road truck till 1988. Moved to Sioux Falls SD to take a job in a Manufacturing company as a technician maintaining SCARA robots, vision inspection systems, and laser welders. Became interested in astronomy in 1973 when I found a 60mm telescope in a second hand store. The rest is history.
