Eclipse of Sun 7/22/2009 with superimposed Full Moon 8/5/2009

The Total Solar eclipse photo was taken from the Eclipse centerline north north-east of Iwo Jima 7/22/09 at 02:26 UT.  One factor making this eclipse the longest of the century was that the moon was near perigee.  The full moon photo was taken just as the moon was grazing the Earth's penumbra at 01:39 UT from North Lake, Wisconsin.  It was near apogee.  Both images were obtaines with a Canon 20Da using a Tamron 28-300mm telephoto lens at 300mm EFL.  The supeimposed images reveal the apparent difference in lunar diameter demonstrating its elliptical orbit
