I took this prime focus image of the Bay of Rainbows with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel DSLR camera using the 17" f/15 classical Cassegrain at the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg's Naylor Observatory. The two craters due south of Promontorium Laplace, the eastern (right) "horn" of Sinus Iridum, are Helicon (25km) and le Verrier (20km). To the southwest of Promontorium Heraclides lie C. Herschel (13km) and Heis (14km). Farther south are Delisle (25km) and Diophantus (19km). Craters Lambert (30km), Euler (28km), and Pytheas (20km) are situated to the southeast of Diophantus, near the bottom of my image. In southern Mare Imbrium, Dorsum Heim is close to C. Herschel. Dorsum Zirkel runs to the southeast of Heim and to the northwest of Lambert. The Naylor Observatory is located two miles northwest of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.
