Jupiter and the Moon on July 5

by Dave Mitsky

I took this photograph of Jupiter (far right) and the Moon from my front yard at 3:33 a.m. EDT on 2010/7/5 using a tripod-mounted Canon EOS Digital Rebel DSLR camera and a Canon 18-55mm EF-S zoom lens.  At the time, Jupiter (magnitude -2.5) and the Moon (magnitude -11.7) were about 18 degrees apart.
