40, Austrian, 15 years in Thailand, 26 years amateur astronomer, started off in 1982 with a 4.5 inch f8 Tasco Newton. A little later my best friend and me built a small backyard observatory in Austria equipped with an 8 inch f4,2 and a homemade 190mm f9 Newton (optics and scope made by my friend) and another homemade 10 inch f6.7 Newton on the same homemade mount as the 8 inch f9. Moving to Thailand in 1993 restricted me astronomically due to a heavy workload in my job. Nevertheless I kept on observing with my 4.5 inch, a friends 8 inch SCT and 20x60 Binos. I took off again towards the stars with the purchase of a 15 inch f4.5 Obsession in 2003. Ever since I'm obsessed with Planetary Nebulas....
