    Stacking Parameters in DeepSkyStacker

For those of you that use DeekSkyStacker, what stacking methods do you prefer and why?

I'm still in the experimental stages with DSS, so I don't think I'm going to be much help to you..
I suppose that depends on what object, how much data(frames) and the quality of data collected.

If you have the time and patience try different things and see how they work.  Whatever you do don't make any luminance, color or other adjustments using DSS prior to saving your image to file.   Use a stand alone program dedicated to image processing and manipulation. I use DSS to stack, save image to a file name of my choice with changes embedded, then complete my processing in Photoshop. That's where the real magic is done.

im still experimenting myself, i did do a comparison of all of them on a some DSO and noticed an improvement on a couple- i cant say for sure which now because the images were on this comp before my hard drive crashed- so i lost them, the help file explains which and each everyone does, id suggest take a DSO- then process it with all them, then compare- just dont use the Max

Additionally, be careful when using the drizzle feature. Especially if you're using large DSLR RAW images.  Using the drizzle will make them very large using up a lot of memory when you go to process it.

i tried experimenting a bit more here, stacking in 'mosaic' mode might be a better option, from what i gather, i get more detail using maximun enthropy on nebs, but NOT for clusters and globs, i just use the median here- also, it seems bicubic for alignment is the best choice 'so far'- im not sure which calibration i prefer yet, but to tell you the truth, you WILL get a different final changing the parameters
