I have a 2.4 inch refracting telescope. Currently the best eyepiece that does not magnify the image more than my scope can handle is a 9mm that came with my scope.

would the view out of a quality 9mm look much better/different?

i am wanting to get a good 7mm, but i was curious if the quality of the eyepieces made much difference.

Remember, this is all just one guy's opinion.

Will you see a difference between your current eyepiece and a 'quality' eyepiece of the same focal length?  Yes, I think you would.  But, it probably would not be a big difference.  Nothing that would make you say "Oh, wow!"  The clarity might be a bit better, the contrast might be improved, and the eyepiece might have better eye relief, but not to a huge extent.  The biggest argument, IMHO, for buying better quality eyepieces is that you know that you are getting the best possible views out of your scope.  That, and as you upgrade your scope over time, you already have good eyepieces and don't need to upgrade them also.

But, again, just my opinion.  Your milage may vary.
