    Favorite Astronomy Movie

I was sitting here watching Apollo 13 and thought I'd ask what your favorite Astronomy related movie was? I'm going to keep my opinions to myself, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

When I was a kid… This may have been the one that I enjoyed the most. I seem to remember it as being more and more interesting each time I watched it.

Now-a-days… Contact is #1 with me. I guess it has the best storyline and acting, and a most hopeful approach to the subject of first contact.

     Ya gotta aks?

Star Trek movies!  (not all of them, though)

Favorite item from one of those movies?  Stellar Cartography.  They go around... when they're not firing phasers or quantum torpedoes... mapping the universe!  How cool!

I wonder what Data's favorite eyepiece was!  (And don't tell me Borg!)

Forbidden Planet (1956)  A classic, which for the time the special effects were well ahead of their time.
Next I would have to say, Contact (1997) with Jodi Foster.
