maybe travel faster than the speed of light around Orion's Belt?

That's so cool, can I come with you? I want to feel the speed, and after that I would know how Flash feels like every time he runs . lol

This is the first place that i would explore would be the outer reachest of our galaxy. Exploring from one galaxy arm to another, looking at the different areas of our galaxy from a single screen or from the spaceship window.  i also think looking at a Beautiful Blue giant or supergiant star would look awesome from a spaceship window. I also would look at the sombrero galaxy for its magnificent lights.

    Re: Were Would You Explore?

WOW!!! That's a great question! I originally had an answer but, after reading all the replies (which were equally as good as the question) I need to rethink. There were just so many great ideas, I really don't know.

If I had to take a stab at it, I'd say a habitable planet located near a dim star right on the edge of a super cluster of galaxies.

    This way...

    1) We could study the effects of massive gravitational forces at work.

    2) We could study the effects of gravitational lensing.

    3) Because of the dim star, night time viewing would be much darker and much longer (probably colder too). Also, it would be much easier to study our parent star with alot less solar filtering involved.

    4) Becuase the planet is habitable, we could study other life forms on the planet.

    5) We have our choice of which galaxies we would want to view (probably from hundreds or even thousands that would be within naked eye viewing). Imagine looking at star clusters or nebulas in other galaxies.

    6) Because of our vicinity, we could perform black hole research on multiple galaxies...up close.

wow this question is almost TOO good.

i would definately say i would have go to the planet habited by the most intelligent lifeform, whatever that may be.  I think it would be interesting to see what those creatures look like, and what the planet they inhabit looks like as well.  Hopefully they have one hell of a view!

I am absolutely bessotted with Eta Carinae and It's humunculous Nebula, so I could really do with swanning around there for a while taking it in. On the way back you could pass me my wellington boots and Methane raincoat then just leave me on Titan with an mp3 full of Jethro Tull.

Well before I start exploring I would need some things: Immortality Invincibility The ability to change my view from normal to infrared and all the others The ability to change from mortal form to invisible form to teleport and travel as fast as I want to time travel... nah scratch that it would be fun trying to find out stuff based on what I can find now then I would go to: 1. EVERY single planet and moon in our solar system 2. Orion Nebula 3. Osiris (the exoplanet with an elliptical orbit) 4. A hot Jupiter 5. A habitable planet with unintelligent life 6. Intelligent life 7. The Andromeda Galaxy 8. And though all that would be great, the particle of dust in the cosmos closest to my heart... Earth again :) I would miss it.

    Re: Where Would You Explore?

I would like to find a planet that was ejected from it's solar system and then some how make the planet habitable and then find a way to move the planet where ever I wanted and get great views of the sky, oh and maybe attach some sort of laser to the planet and don a black plastic suit and ......

..... wait that somehow sounds like star.t wars, I think i'll forget the laser idea and remain peaceful.
