    last night

Did anyone see a really bright light to the west at around 11:05, just a little bit below bootes. It reached a peak brightness in about 2 seconds then faded away in another 2 seconds. It was brighter than arcturus and vega.  Could this have been a meteor burning up?

I was out observing last night and from my vantage it lasted for about 45 seconds. It was a satellite moving from south to north. It must have been high enough to pass through a section of sky still illuminated by the already set sun.

    Re: last night

Based on your description, I have to say it was a satellite.

    Re: last night

last night I was viewing the moon around 23:25hrs. and I saw this small black object in the shape of a triangle, it was in the top part of the moon going from NE to NW, 50~N this would be in the Frigoris and Mare Frigoris area of the moon, it took about 4 seconds to go from one side to the other, it did not have a trail/tail, and did not seem to be maalic or have a luminus apearance.
