    eq tripod

I would like to have an eq mount for my scope, but with high cost of living right now i would like to cut costs as much as possible.  I was wondering if any body has ever built an eq mount like a cg-5 or lxd-75 but cost less. I want to put my Meade DS114 on one until I can get a bigger telescope.  I was also thinking of building a dob but got an idea about a classical cassegrain.  Has anyone ever built a classical cassegrain using a multiple mirror setup for more light gathering.  These are just ideas that popped into my head.  Any remarks would be wonderful.  Good or bad.

This may sound alittle weird but have you ever considered an EQ Platform (mainly for a dob). There is no law that states you can't put a tripod on top of one of these. They cost way less (about $250). You get the same amount of precision.

If you are interested, I will send you a webpage link so you can check them out.

Thanks for the info.  I think I'd be better off if I just went and got a new scope with the mount I want so that's what I'm going to do.
