i wanted to get your feedback on something i came up with today at work, bored out of my mind.
my wife demanded her point and shoot back, and i havent gotten a MOGG adaptor for my webcam yet so it got me thinking on a way to mount it for now...
what i did was take a piece of aluminum stock, 9/32 clearence hole, and a 1/4-20 tapped hole, and calculated that the tripod mounting hole could not reach a 90 degree angle, it was more like 120 degreese.
so doing some math , i came up with a 30 degree bend
i then mounted it on my SteadyPix camera mount, and put an eyepiece on it to see how close i could get it.
bingo, right on , i love math
i wonder if this is going to work though , i still have a few obstacles to fix though , 1, my hard drive on my crap laptop isnt large enough to store the webcam files, and i dont have a long enoughUSB cable to use my PC, and alck of tracking isnt going to let me run in and out praying its still in view, and the weather is to crappy to test it out.
but i was wondering if anyone has attempte dthis method, or anything simular
pic below, you can clearly see the shiny bent plate....this is up to a 25mm eyepiece just for test fit purposes
