witt3696:I just bought a Nikon D40 for my wife and I to use. It doesn't look very easy to do afocal with this camera. Is it possible to do this with a DSLR? I've been using a point and shoot camera and now I'm learning my DSLR. Any hints or suggestions?
Sure it is! All you will need is a camera adapter/mount that mounts the camera to and above the eyepiece. You will probably want something a little heftier than Orion's SteadyPix, probably something more like the one I have which is heavy duty and has an extension plate so you can use it with a DSLR that has a longer lens attached to it. http://www.telescopes.com/telescope-accessories/digital-imaging/celestrondigitalcameraadapteruniversal.cfm...
