    Observatory For Dobsonians

I've haven't built this yet, but I designed it for a 21" Dobsonian.  It is a portable building for housing the scope.  You can size the building for the scope you have.  The Dobsonian is mounted on a "commercial grade flat-bed dolly" you see at Lowes or Home depot.  You simply roll the Dobsonian (with scope down) inside the storage facility.  I tied loop ropes on both ends so I could pull it either way.  The solid rubber wheels lock in place when you roll it out (slowly) to the spot you like!  Smooth drive or road is needed due to vibrations, but I never rolled it very fast.  I forgot to mention that you can place the building on a wooden deck, if it will support it.

PM me, or post it here if you have any questions or comments.

    Have fun!

    Yeah, hey thanks Kevin!

I know it's just a "glorified storage shed," but I really did customize it for this purpose.  There is actually alot of thought put in it, i.e. smooth transition out the door, no ceiling joist, inexpensive, and portable.

By the way, I just thought of another way to utilize it!  It should fit in most pickup beds, for taking it to a star party!
