The Wind River Special Observatory
Thanks for adding this Jeremy. This is a general photo. Roof closed and the south wall partially opened. The East, South, and West walls are hinged at a 2 foot knee wall and supported in whatever position I want them with telescoping aluminum tubes. The roof has to be rolled back of course to open the Easdt and West walls.

Re: The Wind River Special Observatory
Very cool Johnm-- A spacious observatory! I note that you have a nice, low horizon and little light pollution (judging from the environs...). I am surrounded by houses, street lights, and the glow from the city, so I went with a straight roll off. The walls are 5'8", and block out almost everything but useable sky. I used my 15x70s in the observatory for the first time and it was great not having the neighbor's car lights, house lights, ruining my night vision. First light for the scope this coming weekend... Finished exterior painting, and working on sealing the interior... Pictures soon- Peace

Certainly there must be a few others who read this forum who have an observatory they would be willing to share some pictures of. Roll-offs, Domes, Birdcages. Come on guys , lets load this thing up with some photos. Here's another of mine. Roff rolled back and all 3 movable walls opened up.

I thought this section would have exploded with images of roll-offs and domes by now, and I'm surprised it hasn't. I wish I had one so that I could add it along with the other great observatories that are here. Thanks for posting those guys!

Yeah, I thought there would be some more by now myself. I'm getting ready to order a little hoist I'm going to use to motorize the roof. In a couple eons when I get the thing installed, I'll post a few pics of the set up.

What can I say. I love this forum.
I am working on a lightweight, portable "observatory" and as soon as I finish, I will post pictures and plans for everyone too. The target is a wind shield and block the neighbor's patio lights.
