I'd like to announce that the 25th Astronomers Conjunction will be held in Northfield, MA on July 13-14. I'm one of the coordinators. Northfield is about 4.5 hours from NYC and 1.5 hours west of Boston.
As always, we will be holding the event at the Northfield Mountain Environmental Center. Camping is available at Barton Cove campground in nearby Gill. There are also a number of hotels and inns in the area.
To mark our 25th year, the 2007 Conjunction promises to be the best ever. We will kick off with an informal dinner at the Smokin' Hippo, a family restaurant and barbecue, on Route 2 in Erving, MA at 6:30 PM on Friday. After, if it's clear, we will be at our observing site above the Environmental Center starting at 8 PM.
All day Saturday: Conjunction Solar Star Party 2007
"Barlow Bob" Godfrey, Ralph Marantino, Sue and Alan French, and friends will treat us to spectacular close-up views of sunspots and solar prominences through specially filtered telescopes.
