The Chicago Astronomers and the first International Sidewalk Astronomy Night event...

    Fellow Astronomers...

The Chicago Astronomers celebrated the first International Sidewalk Astronomy night event by setting up our various telescopes and sharing the views with visitors, answering questions and talking astronomy. The Venus/Moon conjunction made a great target in the eyepiece, but Saturn & Mercury were there to enjoy too.

I haven't had a more enjoyable and relaxing star party like this in a long time.  A great success in spite of the bright supernova that is our Chicago skyline .
