Deerlick Astronomy Village will be hosting it's 2nd Annual Memorial Day Picnic and Star Party May 26th - 29th, 2007. This event is an opportunity for families, school & church groups, and the curious public to come and have some fun and, weather permitting, grab some photons at night.
This is NOT a hard-core, kid & pet unfriendly event! It is a kite-flying, Frisbee throwing, mega BBQ'ing party! Once it gets dark, we will show off the wonders of the night sky to the uninitiated, and will be helping all those folk who need it to learn to use those telescopes they got years ago, but have never gotten to work. When the kids settle in and things get quiet, THEN we who wish to, can do some serious observing. Talks will be held each afternoon on astronomy, telescopes, and the local area's history.
Weather permitting, I will be there. After all, one of my images is The image of the Month at the DAV website. ![Smile [:)]](/ASY/CS/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)
