    Aurora Videos on YouTube

There are some striking videos of auroral activity on the recent big news item website YouTube.

Here's one of them that's really worth a look.

    That's pretty wild.

I have a stupid question: why are some of the brighter stars moving and those  that appear to be in the background/ somewhat dimmer are not?

There aren't any stupid questions here! :) ... I thought that there must have been a meteor shower going on, or something along thoes sorts. They are probably just a few meteors passing by at the time the video was taken.

Hi Daniel, thanks for not calling me stupid. Cool [8D]

I spotted the meteor shower in what I would call the foreground then there is the middle layer of moving stars/ constellations. Then there is the background layer of stars that are not moving.

Maybe I'm just seeing things. Confused [%-)]

    Sandycane,

Those nonmoving "stars" may be hot pixels or some other sort of artifact.
