I live by the great black holes of the Great Plains. South Dakota. There are a lot of dark sites out here. Only 750K people in the whole state!

Just north of Atlanta GA, place called Woodstock.  Still gets dark at night here, so I love it.

Bomba, India.   Monsoon season now until mid September -- are the stars still there?

Moving to Rotterdam in October -- cleaner streets but cloudy 300 days a year.  You can understand why my telescope is in storage.

    Re: Where do you live?

Hey John! Good to see someone else from my neck of the woods. You are about 20 mins east of me.(I actually have family that live in Oakfield) If you ever want someone to observe with....drop me a line and maybe we can get together. I have a small observatory in my backyard and I'm always looking for someone to observe with.

    Re: Where do you live?

Slick750, Good to hear from you. I wouldn't want to impose on your patience as I am very new and still learning the sky. I have an Orion 10" Dob and go over to my in-laws for some dark sky as I live in the village. I am still setting things up to be able to find items as easy as I can, but I do not want to go computerized for my first large diameter scope. Is it practical to put an email address on this site?
