    NGC 7000

First night out in months due to weather, being laid off and other factors.  I know there are no flat frames in the stack.  This is my first time on this object i thought id be able to make some hint of nebulosity but i guess not.  Not too dissapointed i guess due to the fact i haven't been able to image in so long.  19mins of exposure @ 800 ISO Nikon D40 on my 9.25" SCT w/ 6.3 Focal Reducer.  Please criticize hahaha

Well here is my . The North American nebula is huge and probably exceed the field of your camera unless you were using a focal reducer. Also what T adapter are you using because you have vignetting in the corners of the image. If you are using a regular screw on T adapter you may want to look at a 2" adapter that looks like a regular 2" EP end. I use this one with my XSi and get no vignetting.

    CNC supply 2" camera adapter

Better luck on your next outing!

i am using one that is like a 2" EP, that goes into a 2" astrophysics extender tube then to a 6.3 focal reducer.  I have this problem even with my 100mm refractor.  I think i can eliminate a lot of it by using flat frames when i stack?

I could only say then that you must be shooting in a light polluted area. When I shoot from town I have to keep my subs to less than a minute depending on sky conditions. Some thing as faint as NGC 700 would take a lot of subs from town.

Have you tried a LPR filter? Might allow for longer subs but would add false color.
