Oct 9 - NASA will crash rocket into the Moon

According to SkyNews, on Oct 9 at about 5:30am MDT NASA will crash the last rocket stage into the South pole of the moon and it may be visible in a telescope as small as 10". The mission is the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbitor (LRO) which has had a second mission tacked onto, LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite), it is this second mission which will intentionally crash into the moon with the intent of creating a crater while an instrument follows the rocket stage and tries to detect water in the cloud that gets kicked up.

I think it is absolutely amazing that we might actually be able to observe some of this.
