hello all , just wondering if anybody out there could clear something up . I am thinking on purchacing a meade LXD75-8ACF and was wondering if anybody has used one or even seen one . 1500 dollars is a lot of money  drop on 1 purchace and  i want to make sure i am getting my moneys worth . I currently have a meade 4.5 reflector <dime store> a meade 97d spotting scope , meade etx 60 , meade etx 60 and a 6 in bushnell voyager dob . does anybody know if meade has changed the cheesy focuser designe < at least that is what i read>i read some reviews and that is what people have posted, my dimestore scope backs up this theory.I have heard that they went with a 2 in focuser whene they changed from sc8 to 8 acf. any response will be appreciated . thanks again , roverich

I have two LXD75 scopes . The AR5 & the SN8 . Love them both . Met a guy at one of the star parties that had the 8 inch Schmidt Cassigrain . It was real nice . Not the new ACF model but last years standard SCT . Great unit . I would say best in class . Worth all of the $1500.00 . The LXD75s' pointing & tracking accuracy , as with any equatorial go-to mount is directly related to how well you have set up the polar alignment . That said , on a good night I have tracked objects dead center in the field of view for over two hours without having to re adjust & go-to pointing with objects centered in the FOV from one end of the sky to the other at 122X . IMO it doesn't get any better .

thanks for the quick response , does the sc8 have an 1.25 focuser or 2in with adapter . i currently have the series 4000 super plossels 32,26,18,15 and 13.8swa,9.7swa , 25,18,9,ma and a 3.7 orion plus 2x and 3 x barlows... reason i want the 8in sc  is the focal length and the size . its more compact than a BIG meade refractor <ar6>

from what i could read on meades web site , i think they upgraded the new 8in acf lxd75 to a 2in focuser , but acording to the retail dealers they are still 1.25 . not that i need a 2in but it would be nice for later on as this will be my dream scope.
