just poured the footing for the new pier :)

Cut out a  24x24 square from my deck (closest point of contact with the deck and ground

is  8 feet away from the new pier footing so I should be good as far as minimal vibration transfer to the pier)

Nearly 2 solid days digging with a post hole digger got me a 20" x 6' hole...lots of limestone..

Poured the cement today and placed the  (4)  5/8"  x 16"  anchor bolts (2" L)

Things are looking good....  Plate lined up perfectly....

Waiting for the concrete to firm up.  not gunna jump the gun and tighten the anchor bolts

on the 8" x 3/8" x 48" pier until im sure the concrete is ready for it.... this thing is a beast....

Will run the conduits to the house tomorrow and possibly hook up the power and

data lines inside the house... The fun is just beginning :)

Let's see some photos of all that work. Before, during, after?

Good luck.  It reminds me of the 4' X 4' X 8' hole with a rebar frame for my 75 foot ham radio tower.

Patience really is a virtue when it comes to waiting for concrete to dry!
