    Hello,

I'm relatively new to astronomy and suffer from all of the usual symptoms. I just can't seem to get enough of this stuff.

    Hi!

I stumbled across this forum while Googling something else entirely.  Great luck!  This looks like it'll be a fun read.

I studied astronomy back in the day, but I kind of moved away from it until recently.  Now I've started doing a fair amount of astronomy writing, which seems to be pulling me back in the celestial direction.  Next thing you know, I'll be trying to afford a telescope again...  :)

    Nice to meet you all!

    Hello all,

I joined the community about a week ago and have been lurking around the forums. I have been interested in astronomy since I was a kid. Then my high school had a planetarium, and that get me even more interested. After HS, life happened. Now, 20 years later, I am taking up the hobby again.

I have a variety of books, pc programs, etc, but am missing a key piece of equipment. My Orion xt8 is on order and should ship soon!

I don't have any expectations. I don't care what I see, I'm easy that way. (though saturn and jupiter would really make my day. Andromeda would be cool too... )

Hope to become an active member of the forums!

I am an amateur who has been inactive for the last decade.  Have been out of touch with current astronomy events, so am getting back in touch.  I have a Celestron C-8 and an original Meade 10" f/6.3 along with other smaller glass.

Like the prodigal son, I'm home to the hobby again.  Bought my first scope in 1973, a Criterion "Dynascope"  6" f/8 Newtonian.  Pressures of work and sending kids to college, etc. led me astray for awhile.  Now "I'm Baaaccckk!!!"  I have grandkids to teach the wonders of the night sky.  Heaven knows the school system doesn't do the subject justice.
Besides, every grandpa needs a wholesome project to share with his progeny.
