Here's my first attempt at Jupiter 08,18,08. Seeing was pretty bad, everything was all a swim. Orion 100ed, phillips 900 and I think I powermated it at x2.5 and run through registax and.

 Good effort.

 I haven't got to Jupiter yet, but would be darn happy with your results!!  Good job---

Actually, that was an EXCELLENT attempt. That image if far better than my first attempt. And it only gets better. Nice job. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks Starwolf,  I see I forgot to say that the 100ed is mounted on a SV Pro none goto with tracking.  That pic is about 2 to 3 seconds from a 20 second clip at 20 fps. I think next time I try I will try out my UHC maybe.

Not bad at all....especially for a first attempt.  You should see my first try.   I have been at it for a couple of years, and my best images this year, are not a whole lot different from yours.   It's a difficult target unless the "seeing" is above average......with near perfect focus and exposure settings.   If this is your first, you will get some great images as you gain experience.  You are off to a great start.   There is some luck involved......being out there on a night (or an hour) with good seeing. 

I got lucky [astrophotography-wise LOL) a couple of nights last year, and managed to get quite a bit of detail.   This year has been a challenge so far.   Aperture and superb optics don't hurt of course, but extra good seeing can overcome shortcomings in equipment.
