First shot with the new scope

After all the research and bidding on ebay, I finally got a scope.  A used Nexstar 4, lovingly named McMahon. . .star search. . .get it?  Anyways. . .tried the afocal method with my Coolpix 8700.  ISO 100, 1/30 @f2.8.  Very little processing done, I was just so darn happy to finally get a nice pic, I didn't have the patience to keep tweaking it!  So, here it is. . .my first pic with the new scope.

Nice shot.  I've been playing with afocal shots as well.

Nice first shot. My first lunar afocal shot looked like a big white blob in the sky, so you have every reason to be proud of that one. I have to admit too, I like the nickname for your telescope, very fitting.

Here's one more.  Same setup as before. This one is from 7-22-08 around 11pm. 1/125 sec @ f2.8 and a little processing.
