There's nothing wrong with a 25mm plossl.  I use my 13mm Baader Hyperion more than anything else, followed closely by the 24mm Hyperion.

The one I have used the most with my newt and mak, is my 17mm,,, but now I bought a used refractor. Will see if I like it as much in that one.

    Re: most used eyepiece

When I had my old Celestron 60, I used a 25mm and 10mm plossl, as well as a 6mm kellner. I used the 25mm and 10mm a lot, and used the 6 only for a view quick looks at the moon. Then I got an 18mm Celestron X-Cel and, finding it to be hugely superior to all others, used that and nothing else!

31mm Nagler T5. In my 20" Obsession it gives me 82 X with exactly 1 Deg. FOV and 6.2mm exit pupil. It was like this EP was made for the scope. My other favorite is the 17mm Nagler T4.n They are looking out of a porthole in a spaceship.

    Re: most used eyepiece

I generally start out with my Sirius 40mm possl and usually go to the 17mm Hyperion. From there its usually the 17mm plus a barlow (2x or 2.5x). If the seeing is halfway decent I use a 5mm Hyperion (that's kinda pushing things with my scope, but I've got some fairly good closeup views of Saturn with it).

Currently, in my five scopes with 2" focusers, the 35mm Tele Vue Panoptic and 13mm Ethos rule.  In my Coronado PST, it's an 8-24mm Vixen Lanthanum zoom eyepiece.  I use a 19mm Panoptic and 7mm Nagler Type 6 most often in my 1.25" focuser 80mm refractors.

    Re: most used eyepiece

It's my 8mm TV Radian. I use it almost all the time. Most of my observing is with an SV152 apo, at 1,200mm focal length. So that's 150x. I'm pretty much a lunar and planetary observer. I use a 3-6mm Nagler zoom when the seeing allows, and most of the time it's at the 5 and 6mm settings.

However, lately I'm doing a lot of double-star observing, and that's using a Celestron MicroGuide eyepiece exclusively (sometimes with a 2X, 2.5X, or 4X PowerMate). This is a 12.5mm Orthoscopic eyepiece (which includes a special measuring reticle), and gives just about 100X in the SV152. It stays fairly sharp in the 4X PowerMate, too.

I begin every observing session with a mount alignment using an 18mm TV Radian, so that's probably my second most-often-used eyepiece.

I have recently been using one of 3RF's 31mm TV Naglers in this same scope and it's truly a spacewalk experience. the 24mm Panoptic is also very nice in this scope.

An Ethos might just give me a heart attack ...
