Almost every month of the year there is one or more major meteor showers. During the summer months, several major showers overlap so seeing meteors is not a problem on clear nights, even when the Moon is out.

  I observe these showers often and was wondering about other people's meteor shower observing:

 1. How many showers do you observe each year on average?

 2. Do you have a favorite shower to watch?

 3. Do you watch showers alone or with company most of the time?

 4. What do you like best about watching a shower?

   My self, 1. 4-6

               2. The Persids

               3. Alone

               4. Brilliance and colors of the meteors, fireballs and the trains left behind

     Keep an eye open for the June Bootids from June 22nd to July 3rd, with peak activity  on the evening of June 26th until midnight, when the rising Moon interferes with the dimmer meteors. Several per hour can be expected during the peak without the Moon present in the sky.

 I've only ever observed one. Last years Persids. I was alone but joined by the rest of my family at times. They missed the fireballs...

1. How many showers do you observe each year on average?

        At least 4, weather permitting
 

 2. Do you have a favorite shower to watch?

        So far, it would be the Persids
 

 3. Do you watch showers alone or with company most of the time?

        Alone most of the time, with an occasional visit by my wife, or daughter.
        That will change soon however. There's a new grand baby on the way, and
        I fully intend on introducing it to the night sky.
 

 4. What do you like best about watching a shower?

        The serenity of just spending time beneath the stars.
 

As a working stiff, I can only observe when they happen to hit on a weekend.  I don't know why, but they're almost always scheduled for a weeknight between 2AM and 6AM. 

But, when I'm able, I prefer the Perseids, and my wife normally joins me.
