I was out tonight with my neighbors watching the fly by of the space shuttle and the space station, While they watched with the naked eye, I tracked the ISS with my 8" dob and web cam. After the ISS disappeared behind the trees, I did something very foolish. I closed the camera software without stopping the camera first. You can probably guess what happened then. The video I had taken wasn't saved. It was lost completely. One stupid mistake, and the best images I have ever captured of the ISS were down the toilet. You can bet that I will mark this down as a learning experience, and will never make that mistake again.
We did get to view the moon, M82, Saturn, Mars, and a few clusters so the night wasn't a total loss.
