    Evil [}:)] Posting of Advertisements

Posting of advertisements is not permitted in the forums. If you have products/services you would like to advertise, there is an opportunity to purchase ads Astronomy.com and/or Astronomy Magazine. Some exceptions that may be permitted are:

    • Members looking for specific products or accessories - If your store/business carries the specific product another member is looking for, a reply with a link or information on how you can be contacted would be permitted.

    • If you're posting an introduction in the Welcome - Introduce Yourself forum, it would be acceptable if you posted some information about your company, products and/or services - within reasonable limits (of course).

    • As an active member of the forum, helping out other members, it would be acceptable to provide a link back to your website within your signature.

This is something the staff has discussed. As for now, we don't have any plans to create one.

Sleepy [|)] RE: Posting of Advertisements

What about mentioning or telling other forum members in a post about binocular & telescope information from past ASTRONOMY issues?Would that constitute violating the rules?I have the Fall 2003 issue with the year month sky guides & which objects to look for. That issue has alot of great binocular & telescope info. Would putting up the info from that be wrong?I only ask because there may be alot of new forum members who only just began buying ASTRONOMY Magazine or haven't done so in a long time. I'm looking out for them. Thank you.

It mostly pertains to advertisers coming here and posting with a direct intent to sell.

Yes I know. The eternal cycle of creation and destruction will continue undaunted in perpetuity. Western man does not have a clue, but there is much insight in the Bhagavad-Gita. Why are you asking? You should know these things.

"I am the sire of this world, and this world's mother and grandsire:
I am he who awards to each the fruit of his action:
I make all things clean, I am OM, I am absolute knowledge:
I am also the Vedas- the Sama, the Rik and the Yajus.

I am the end of the path, the witness, the Lord, the sustainer:
I am the place of abode, the beginning, the friend and the refuge:
I am the breaking- apart, and the storehouse of life's dissolution:
I lie under the seen, of all creatures the seed that is changeless.

I am the heat of the sun; and the heat of the fire am I also:
Life eternal and death. I let loose the rain or withhold it.
Arjuna, I am the Cosmos revealed, and its germ that lies hidden."

I am come the destroyer of worlds and the snake will once again swallow its tail.

Robert Oppenheimer believed these things and had his body cremated and his ashes spread over the Caribbean. Are his atoms exactly in position yet? [:0]

I agrre, there should be a classified section. That would be a great idea! And another thing, "what will future of universe? do you no?" - what kind of question is that?! The grammar is totally off and the phrasing of the question is just.. not understable! I don't get it - what does it mean?

I think a classified section for private, non-commercial sales of used equipment would be a great service to the community.

What if you have items on sale on Ebay that pertain to astronomy?

    RE: Posting of Advertisements

Sorry, but we can't allow that. Until there is a classified section on the site, please do not post sale items, even if they are links to auction sites.
