hello, i recently got into astronomy heaps, i getin 10-12inch dob as first scope, i just been usin binos and goin up bush every few weekends.

 got a bit of light polution here i live (like 5min outa melb city lol)

was wonderin if there any clubs in melb?

and also are there any magazines for australia.

cause i look up alot, but its always northern sky, cause alot of sites are american =/, and not many of my mates seem to be into it.

and i cant really have a good chat with em about it,

I don't recall anyone on this forum being from Melbourne, but I know there are several active groups in the region. One is in or near Coonabarabran. The Warrumbungles Mountain Inn caters to astronomy groups, as well.

I recall there have been members from Australia, I just can't recall them by name from memory.

This site is open to all and we have quite an international contingent. But it's not exactly MySpace where there are thousands of folks hanging out all the time.

Check back from time to time and you'll find someone posting here from Oz.
