    Angry [:(!] Weird but True

    Ok here goes

I was observing in the Guadulope MTs of Western Texas late one evening...miles from nowhere. I had gotten a new tent and I admit I am a tent kind of guy nothing but the best will do. So the tent had two doors a regular Hi Alt four season Mt Tent.

I turn in about two am close the netting and crawl into the sleeping bag. About four I awake and I can feel something kinda jumping around on top of me while I am in the bag. I did not need to look at what it was as it did not matter whatever should not be in the tent jumping on top of me period. I slipped out the tent from under the bag and stood off a ways trying to figure out just what to do when a large skunk came walking out and just walked off.

Warning when using a tent in skunk country they have the ability to open zippers and get in with you. use a bread wrapper to tie the zippers togerther.

That's almost worse than a skunk in the house. (That happened to the next door neighbors we had when I was a kid. Fortunately, it didn't spray, otherwise the house would've been untenable.)

insect repellent is a must in any observation night.

I think I would have had a heart attack! I don't like things that sneak up on me in the dark.
