Last night Stellarium messed up?
Posted by stepping beyond on Thursday, October 24, 2013 7:58 AM

Did anyone experience this? I still went on with my hunt for some new "M" objects and I had a wonderful evening.I had come across some awesome open clusters and Globs but, I can't identify due to stellarium 12.1 being messed up. I was looking for m33 also wanting to update the location and time  for the best possible view. I did view an awesome double cluster in the Cassiopea area, what an awesome sight. I really need a good free program, where my mouse doesn't vanish ? Suggestions? The sky was just so beautiful with all my friends showing themselves in the dark background. I just enjoy the night sky, even if it is freezing at the ocular. You can't keep me away from my Z10 during the best viewing time of the year.

I can't help you much stepping beyond other than saying I'm still using 0.10.5 and it works for me.

Just may have to give it a go with that one , ever since I upgraded from 11 to 12 I've had nothing but, trouble out of 12.0 and now 12.1. Thinking the upgrade would be a lil' better ,wasn't I fooled. Back to the drawing board. Your friend Ronnie

I quit updating anything years ago . It always seemed to be a bad experience in the end .

I currently use nothing but the iPhone and ignore all updates . If you go on the app pages and read reviews , every one complains about problems post updates . I just won't do it .

This version of Stellarium is very senstive to "Mouse settings"  I had the same problem until i changed my mouse setting to eliminate "trails"
